From approximately 1:45 – 2:10 PM, all EASD schools located within Ephrata Borough were without power. Clay and Akron Elementary schools were not impacted by this power outage.
We were immediately in touch with Ephrata Borough officials, who worked with PPL to solve this issue. As of 2:10 PM, power was restored. During this short outage, the District relied on back-up generators to provide emergency lighting and power for essential operations in the schools impacted.
Most importantly, all students and staff remained safe. Dismissal will occur as regularly scheduled.
Thank you!

A group of EIS students are part of the CompassMark Leaders of Future Generation program and meet after school on a regular basis to discuss many #EASDLifeReady skills. Today, they are embodying these traits while leading activities with Akron Elementary School students.

Did you know EHS cheerleaders were selected to participate in the Citrus Bowl pregame and halftime show on New Years Day? They were among hundreds of cheerleaders from across the country who also earned this amazing opportunity. Congrats! #MountsPride

Meet A Mountaineer

Today is our first ever Unified Bocce Ball scrimmage. Learn more about the growing Unified Sports program and all it has to offer. Best of luck to these Mountaineers for a successful season! #MountsPride

The month-long efforts of the EHS National Honor Society made available a food pantry for their classmates. This will be especially helpful to provide food for students and their families during the upcoming holiday break. #EASDLifeReady #MountsPride

The holiday spirit is strong at Clay Elementary School! Not only did kindergarteners enjoy a special story from a surprise guest reader today, students in autistic support classrooms creatively decorated an entire hallway.

We love all the generosity on display by our students and staff this time of year! Today, Akron Elementary School 4th graders took their annual trip to shop for families in need. This year, the items selected from Dutchway will be donated to Ephrata Area Social Services.

Christmas came a bit early for Camden and Izzy today, who are now "Mountaineer Official." 💜🐶💛

Meet A Mountaineer

The Celebrating Public Education portion of the monthly school board meeting continued with resolutions for MANY post-season individual and team athletic achievements by our field hockey, volleyball, soccer, and football teams. Congratulations, Mountaineers!

Board members also got to meet the newest members of the Mountaineer family, EIMS facility dogs Izzy & Camden.

Celebrating Public Education: EIS students are showing school board members their computer science skills and what it takes to code and fly a drone. #EASDLifeReady #MountsPride

Meet A Mountaineer!

A good question for all of us to inspire reflection & gratitude… What brings you joy? Many Fulton students started school today by writing down their answers. #EASDLifeReady #MountsPride

Akron Elementary School students are using not only their math skills to practice fractions and measuring, but their #EASDLifeReady collaboration and teamwork skills to follow a recipe and make banana bread. Once complete, the bread will be given as gifts to many school helpers!

Always a holiday highlight, EHS students in the autistic and life skills programs hosted their annual open house today. Students are involved in every aspect, from crafting items to making monetary transactions. Well done, Mountaineers!

The team at Ephrata Middle School is collaborating to create an epic mural for their school. We can't wait to see the finished product!
