40 student teams recently competed in the annual EASD K'NEX Challenge to design a prototype that addresses a real-world problem related to infrastructure, transportation, or urban development. The goal is to inspire students to think about how cities, roads, bridges, and systems can be built or improved to be more efficient, sustainable, and accessible. Teams from EIS and Akron Elementary School were the top-finishers and will represent EASD next month at the IU13 level of competition. Congrats, Mountaineers!

This year, they hosted their very first Spelling Bee, and the top four spellers advanced to a virtual regional challenge hosted by WITF, competing against over 200 participants! We’re thrilled to share that out of 33 students who qualified for the Grand Championship Bee, Diamond Wratto (5th Grade, EIS) earned a spot! The Grand Championship Bee will take place on March 15, 2025 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
