We officially kicked off the school year with staff. There is much excitement among the team as we look forward to students' first day on Monday. It's going to be another great school year!

Join us in wishing a warm Mountaineer welcome to all new Ephrata Area School District staff, including these new educators. We are excited for all staff to return and look forward to students' first day on Monday, August 26!

Does the last day of school bring a smile to you face like Bentley?
Thanks for a great school year, Mountaineers!

REMINDER! Tomorrow - June 6 - is the last day of school!
Dismissal Times:
Middle School: 11:55 AM
High School: 12:00 PM
Elementary Schools: 12:40 PM
Intermediate School: 12:45 PM
Breakfast will be served. Lunch will be served to students in Grades 1-6 only.

A graduation highlight every year is the nostalgic elementary walk when grads are energetically congratulated by younger Mountaineers and special moments with past teachers are revisited.

We hosted our first elementary Conquer the Cube Challenge this school year with a 2x2 and 3x3 division. Both require students to be adept at utilizing an algorithm to yield a solved cube. It takes practice and dedication to conquer a task like this considering you only have about a 1 in 3,000,000 chance at solving a 2x2 cube randomly and a 1 in 43,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance at solving a 3x3 cube randomly. These students finished on top and showed #EASDLifeReady critical thinking, problem solving, grit, resilience, and a growth mindset throughout their learning journey!

Congrats to the top finishers of our Math 24 challenge! Math 24 is a critical thinking game where students compete to quickly determine how four numbers can be utilized to yield the answer of 24. They can add, subtract, multiply, and divide to get the answer. PLUS! Thank you to Reagan, an Akron Elementary School fourth-grader, who made these awesome medals for the winners! Well done, Mountaineers!

This afternoon, we hosted our annual Retirement Reception to celebrate 13 beloved Mountaineers and over 323 years of combined service to EASD! Congratulations and best wishes in retirement. See all of our retirees here: https://youtu.be/qonOArER3Y8

Our annual EASD ESL picnic was a huge success! 40+ families attended and brought food to share, local organizations shared how they can help families thrive, and games were organized by EHS Leo Club students. Thanks to our ESL families and staff who make this a successful event each year!

More kindergarten fun with students and families today! What growth they’ve shown this school year! We are proud of you, Mountaineers!

Meet A Mountaineer

While some call it Teacher Appreciation Week, we embrace STAFF Appreciation Week at EASD. As this week draws to a close, we celebrate the commendable work of our entire Mountaineer team and the role they play in inspiring ALL students to reach their full potential. #MountsPride

Congrats to our recent Substitutes of the Month: Leona Miller (pictured here with Food Service Director Teri Gamez) and Lori Lehman. These valued substitutes help across all schools in both food service and in classrooms. We are so grateful for their support!

Highland second-graders recently created advertisements for Bank of Bird-in-Hand. They were thrilled when bank representatives visited to thank them in person! We greatly value these community connections and the authentic #EASDLifeReady connections they provide for our learners!
