Welcome to Highland Elementary School! We are excited for the 2023-24 school year!  The teachers and staff have been working hard in getting prepared for new year.  We look forward to meeting and/or reconnecting with our students and their families!  It is important that everybody feels comfortable and safe here in our Highland Community. One of our focuses (in which you will see in our BE A MOUNTAINEER PROGRAM GUIDE) is for school to be a CARING & RESPONSIVE COMMUNITY for ALL STUDENTS AND FAMILIES.   

We want our students and families to feel and observe Highland Elementary being A CARING and RESPONSIVE COMMUNITY SCHOOL each and every day! Each year, Highland continues to grow its already established schoolwide positive behavior system to help promote/celebrate positive behavior.  Weekly and Monthly Celebrations take place in connection to the Yellow/Red Card Behavior Accountability System.  GAME SHOW DAY AT HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY takes place at the end of every month and is considered our MONTHLY CELEBRATION.  This MONTHLY CELEBRATION has been developed to celebrate Highland Heroes from each class who have demonstrated the monthly disposition, as well as celebrate those who earned their monthly reward. Along with enhancing our schoolwide positive behavior system, Highland works through the MTSS Behavior process and has established a system to track student behavior to help identify student needs for behavior. This system helps provide support/feedback to students who are identified as Tier 2 and Tier 3 in our MTSS Behavior System.  As the year begins, you will learn about your child’s classroom and learn more about some of the cool things we do at Highland.  Thank you so much for your partnership and we look forward to a wonderful school year!
