The Cloister FFA is proud to announce the results of their spring regional Career Development Event (CDE) which was held on Tuesday, April 16. A group of Ephrata High School students competed among students from other FFA chapters in Schuylkill, Lebanon, Berks, Chester, and Philadelphia counties in a variety of agricultural topics. VETERINARY SCIENCE: - Madison Wenger - 2nd in Lancaster County & 6th Overall - Kate Diirner - 3rd in Lancaster County & 11th Overall - Augusta Good - 7th in Lancaster County - Luca Wilson - 19th in Lancaster County WILDLIFE: - Caden Beyer - 1st Lancaster County & 2nd Overall - Hannah Jacke - 2nd in Lancaster County & 3rd Overall - Marie Frey - 4th in Lancaster County & 7th Overall - Lauren Rissler - 7th in Lancaster County & 11th Overall - Erik Guzman Moreno - 27th in Lancaster County - Jordan Crabbe - 31st in Lancaster County - Joey Ward - 36th in Lancaster County Additionally, Caden Beyer, Hannah Jacke, Brendon Martin, and Madison Wenger will be recognized at the Lancaster County FFA Banquet in May for their top CDE finishes this year, as will Sally Bollinger and Sarah Taylor for earning their Red Rose Degrees.

Celebrating Public Education: Highland Elementary School Kindergarteners showed all they've learned and created as part of their year-long Cornerstone which is focused on the question, "Why are animals important in our community?"

Tonight's School Board Resolutions included state swimming and national quiz bowl student achievements. Mrs. Lori Long was also publicly recognized for being named the local, regional, and state VFW Teacher of the Year. #MountsPride

EHS recently hosted 21 Cocalico High School students for a friendly day of activities, including Spanish trivia and a language competition. Gracias, Aguilas!

Our incoming Kindergartners are having a blast at our school "Kindergarten, Here I Come" events!

The Ephrata Area School District recently received a donation - over $3,500 - from the GIANT Company to be used within the Food Services Department. Through the Feeding School Kids initiative, the GIANT Company and its customers raised money to address the issue of childhood hunger throughout local public school districts in the communities they serve. Customers at GIANT stores were invited to round up their grocery purchases to the nearest dollar or convert their “choice” points into a donation for their local public schools’ food programs. “We are grateful for this donation. It will aid in ensuring that all students in the District have adequate access to meals, helping students to reach their full potential,” stated District Food Service Director Teri Gamez. Best wishes to Nicholas Ryan who is headed to Chicago to represent EHS in an individual quiz bowl competition with at least 100 other students nationwide. We are proud of Nicholas for earning this achievement and wish him the best of luck! #MountsPride
