The week of October 22 to the 26 Highland Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon week. Red Ribbon week is a week dedicated to the purpose of raising students' awareness of the affects of drugs and alcohol. Students participated in several different activities to show their support.

The week went as follows:

Monday-"Stay active, don't use drugs!"
Students and teacher wore sports jerseys and were givin 15 minutes of extra recess.
Tuesday-"Sock it to drugs!"
Students and teachers wore their favorite crazy socks.
Wednesday-"Food alone is not enough, sleep also keeps you healthy and tough!"
Students woke up and rolled right out of bed, attending school in their PJ's.
Thursday-"Hats off to staying drug free!"
Crazy hats were seen all over Highland all showing support to be drug free!
Friday-"Wear red to celebrate Red Ribbon Week!"
Highland could be seen from miles away with students and teachers wearing red!
