On Friday, May 2, 2008, 5th grade students at Highland Elementary held their D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony. During the program 70 fifth graders recieved certificates and t-shirts from Ephrata Borough D.A.R.E. Officer Brian Dell Isola. These students completed 17 weeks of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) training to guide them in learning how to say no and make positive choices
in their lives. The following students recieved special recognition for being D.A.R.E. project winners, art project winners, poetry winners, and essay winners: Tiffany, Julie, Allison, Christian, Jonathan, Erica, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Gary, Isaiah, Samantha, and Cooper.
Highland Elementary School is very appreciative of this important program, and to the Ephrata Borough Police Department and Officer Brian Dell Isola for all of their effort in educating our students.
