On Friday, October 26, a representative of the Lancaster YWCA and the Lancaster Sexual Assault Prevention Center visited Fulton’s first and third grade classes. The subject material in the personal safety program included verbal and non-verbal assertiveness skills, how to recognize different kinds of touches (good touch, bad touch, and confusing touch), what to do if you experience a confusing touch, and how to identify adults who can help. The program was tailored to the class’ age group and was presented to the children in a positive, non-threatening way. Parents or guardians were welcome to attend the session with their child.
