Whether their interest was in tractors, cows, science, or ice cream, there was something for everyone to learn from when the fourth graders visited Tom and Sue's Bollinger's dairy farm. This modern farm milks over 300 cows and uses many of the most up-to-date techniques and technologies to run as efficiently as possible.
The students rotated through various stations where they learned about topics such as feeds and animal nutrition, pest control, the milking process, and how milk plays a part in a healthy diet.
It was a beautiful day to be out and about and it was obvious the students were having a great time. One of the highlights was definitely the hay ride as they were shuttled from one activity to another. Judging from the looks of fascination and excitement on the faces of the students, the Bollinger's efforts to give the students a fun, educational experience were very successful.
