Taking turns to sit inside the tractor, fourth graders from Akron got a taste of what it's like down on the farm. This event was took place on Wednesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 17. Upon arrival, the students split into 6 groups and were sent to various stations where High School Agriculture education students were the presenters for the day. The presentations were based on Ag classes the students are currently enrolled in at the highschool, such as Biotechnology, Vet Tech, and many more. The elementary students got to pet animals, eat apples, and even got to hear a dog's heartbeat. They also got a tour around a real family farm! Along with that they were able to meet Lancaster Dairy Princess, Steph Kauffman. The beautiful, sunny day ended when the students climbed back on the bus and headed back for school.
