This photo was taken over the course of approximately two minutes.  The boy was seated in a totally dark room with the girl to his one side.  They were then "painted" with a flashlight.  After the light was turned off, the girl moved to the other side where she was again painted with light.  The aperture was set at f/5.6 and the shutter on bulb.
