About Honors Chemistry 2

Chemistry Home

Welcome to the Honors Chemistry 2 website!  I am going to try to update this site to include other things, but for now I am including the course description, course syllabus and the lab safety contract.  Check the Units link to access course materials arranged by unit.

New for the 2007-08 school year is the mini-unit on Nanotechnology.  Because this is such an expanding area of chemistry, students will get an introduction to what nanotechnology is, and be able to perform two experiments that deal with nanoparticles.  This year is a trial year, and, if successful, this unit may become part of the Honors Chemistry 2 curriculum.

This course was designed to help you through your future chemistry courses in college.  I will try to focus on the understanding of the material, rather than pushing you through as many units as possible.  Professors from a few of the local universities have remarked on how this could potentially help future college students more than an AP course could.  Preparation is the focus here!
