Safety and Wellness: Scope

Gather and promote ideas and suggestions for improving workplace safety and employee wellness
employees to work safely
Influence others to participate in wellness activities
Establish annual safety inspecting procedures for identifying unsafe conditions and practices
Investigate accidents and near misses
Review accident investigations and building safety inspection reports
Monitor accident trends and plan prevention
Provide written recommendations to the administration regarding any unsafe work conditions and practices or occupational health concerns
Implement programs of compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations regarding personnel and equipment safety
Conduct follow-up evaluations to review the effectiveness of newly implemented safety equipment and health procedures
Promote the safety, health and wellness programs
Make suggestions relative to selections of safety equipment and appropriate tooling
Implement other safety techniques including safety items such as those which are outlined in the policy statement to employees
Report annually to the administration on the past year's accomplishments and the next year's goals
