Eating right is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle.  Each month, the Ephrata Area School District will place one healthy recipe on the website for you to try with your families.  These recipes are provided through the Ephrata High School Family and Consumer Science Department.

Fats are around no matter where you look.  Let’s face it, fat is what makes food taste good.

Fats should take up 7 to 10 percent of our total calorie intake.  It is very important that we limit the amount of fat intake in our diet.  Here are some helpful tips to help lower you fat intake.

  • Use canola oil or olive oil instead of vegetable oil.

  • Use margarine instead of butter.

  • Try to limit the amount of doughnuts, cookies, and French fries.

3 cups ice cubes
