If a medicine, INCLUDING OVER-THE-COUNTER
MEDICINES (nonprescription), must be taken during school hours, the
following items are required:

A note from the family
doctor which includes the name of the medicine, dose, and directions.
A prescription bottle containing the medicine will be accepted instead
of the doctor's note. A second labeled bottle can be obtained
from the pharmacist for school use.

A note from a parent or
guardian giving the student permission to take the medicine in school
as well as to inform when the next dose is to be given.

The medicine must be
brought to the Health Room in the morning before school begins. No
medicine should be carried by a student or left in a locker during
school hours except as noted below.

Inhalers and other
medication for life-threatening allergy may be carried by the student
with the documentation outlined above.

A small supply of
prescribed medication for such problems as migraine headaches,
allergies, chronic illness may be kept in the Health Room with the
proper documentation.
