Will the 5/6 Intermediate School follow an elementary schedule or a Middle School schedule?

The 5th and 6th Grade students will follow an elementary schedule.

Will the 5th and 6th Grade students ride buses with older students?

No. They will ride buses with other elementary school students. Walking distances for 5th and 6th Grade students will follow the state recommended distance for elementary students-- 1.25 miles from the Middle School OR 1.25 miles from the home Elementary School Attendance Zone.

Will 5th and 6th Grade students be mixed with the 7th and 8th Grade students?

No. The Ephrata Middle School will contain two schools within one building -- the 5/6 Intermediate School and the Middle School (for 7th and 8th Grade students). While students will share some spaces throughout the building, such as the gymnasium, cafeteria, and classrooms for music, art, and computer, their use of these areas will not overlap.
